The Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum has been a staple in the Winnebago County community since its opening on June 3, 1903. The downtown Rockford landmark is a living memorial to Veterans from all wars. It will serve as a constant reminder to the sacrifices given by brave men and women from Winnebago County and a way for generations to remember and learn about their lives. The mission of Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum is to preserve, display, and share the artifacts of Rockford and Winnebago County veterans who served in braches of the military. Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum does this through outreach, exhibits, lectures, and other educational opportunities to visitors. We strive to be a contributing member of the redevelopment of downtown Rockford, Illinois.
Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum is a property of Winnebago County and receives donations through the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, a tax exempt, 501(c)3 agency. The Hall is available as a rental to the community for private and public events as well as home to several veterans support agencies. Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering free admission. Large group and Scout tours by appointment.
