Winnebago County is working with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to update the Winnebago County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (WC-MHMP).FEMA requires the County to update the WC-MHMP every five years.An open public involvement process is required by FEMA to develop and effective plan.
A Public Meeting for the WC-MHMP will be held during the Winnebago County's Public Works Committee meeting at 5:00 P.M. on December 3, 2024, in Room 510 of the County Administration Building located at 404 Elm Street, Rockford, IL 61101.
Public participation is encouraged.Winnebago County is working with the Region 1 Planning Council (RPC) to update the WC-MHMP.Those interested are invited to view the proposed MHMP changes on RPC's weblink:
