Re: Winnebago County Chairman Joseph Chiarelli is Seeking Applicants for the Appointed Position of Zoning Board of Appeals Vacancy

Winnebago County is currently accepting applications for a Zoning Board of Appeals member. The Zoning Board of Appeals is a seven-member panel that advises the County Board of zoning and land use issues. The Committee meets regularly once a month, at times special meetings are called, and members are paid $100 a meeting. The term of office is 5 years.

The Committee cannot have more than one member from any particular Township. Because of the current make-up of the Committee, residents may not apply if they are from the Townships of Cherry Valley, Harlem, Harrison, Laona, Roscoe or Seward.

Requirements of interested individuals:

  • Winnebago County resident
  • Must reside in one of the following Townships: Burritt, Durand, Owen, Pecatonica, Rockford, Rockton, Shirland or Winnebago
  • Registered voter preferred
